Village- Talk to Man, turn in your sword, then rush water temple Kill 3 frogmen for chance at leaf gems/exp for lvl and 2 mana, pick up 2 heal plants in case you need them. Speed through, jump off the cliff to the left. This saves time in the not wasting mana to get the one inside the temple. Water Cave-Collect magic Ring behind first savepoint. This is also handy in a different way as you will need to kill less monsters to get enough hp/mp to survive boss attacks/kill them with magic.

Skip Go to Tree Village for Dragon Cave immediately (You get 2 magic rings on the way and can spend excess gems on magic ore ) **There was considerable waiting to give the bracelet to the guy in order to obtain another magic ring and the Rapier, If the rapier is unneeded to 1-shot some of the weak caster mobs for easy exp/gems then I see no reason to wait to get it, just spend excess gems on mana thingoes and continue on your merry way.
